Merry Christmas to everybody. I realize that I'm a bit late in beating everyone else to the Christmas posts in the journal, but I don't mind.
I have to say that I am thoroughly enjoying all of the gifts I've received thusfar (especially yours, Cortege!), and should be around to drop off everyone's presents within the next few minutes. They've been taking a while to wrap, unfortunately. It's because I was waiting for the last of them to arrive before starting on that.
To anyone who is interested, I will be in the common room at the piano at approximately 7:00 tomorrow evening. I will be playing a musical composition of my own that I recently completed. Anyone is free to come and watch.

I'm thinking of writing a play. Or maybe just a scene. Something abstract, at least.
What do you guys think?

"You only think you understand. People cannot perfectly understand each other. They can't even understand themselves. Understanding a hundred percent of anything is impossible. So, people endeavour to attempt to learn about themselves and others. That's what makes life interesting."
This is quite true, I find.
Neon Genesis Evangelion is an amazing series. Interesting, unique, and very philosophical at times. The characters are quite wonderful, too. It's rare to see good, strong female leads.
I've been watching it over the internet, but if any of you want to pool your money, buying the DVDs would make an amazing Christmas gift. Either that or the movie, The End of Evangelion. I've been meaning to watch it, but I haven't been able to find it yet. I've heard some very good things about it.

Ah, it's been a long while since I've read that book. 1984 by George Orwell, in case you don't recognize it. One of my favourites.
Hmm, I've been bored lately. After the feast, there hasn't been all that much to do around here. Anyone going out anywhere where I can tag along?

Have you finished with the short story I gave you yet? The one that got turned down by the magazine I gave it to.
I'd like to know what you think of it.

I think that I'm going to need it in the near future.
If there's a tape in there, please respect my privacy and don't listen to it. It wouldn't make much sense anyway.

...Right. So who else thinks that there's something up with L's mysterious 'sickness'?
He seemed fine a couple of days ago. More than just fine.
If you share my suspicions, or if you have any theories as to why he might be feigning illness, please post them here.
But make sure to filter them against L, please. I wouldn't want for any of us to get into trouble.

If I were to print off a few copies of my stories, would any of you be interested in reading them?
I do primarily horror and mystery stories. Little crime novellas and the like.
A lot of it is very gory and violent, I'll warn you. And there's the occasional sex scene in there too. Male/female, male/male, and female/female. I don't discriminate.
Let me know if you're interested, and what kind of stuff you'd like me to run off for you. Name it, and I've probably tried it.

An old rapist dairy farmer died and left 17 cows to his three sons. In his will, the farmer stated that his oldest son should get 1 / 2 , his middle son should get 1 / 3 , and his youngest son should get 1 / 9 of all the cows. The sons, who did not want to end up with half cows, sat for days trying to figure out how many cows each of them should get.
One day, their neighbour came by to see how they were doing after their father's death. The three sons told him their problem. After thinking for a while, the neighbour said: "I'll be right back!" He went away, and when he came back, the three sons could divide the cows according to their father's will, and in such a way that each of them got a whole number of cows.
What was the neighbor's solution?

...A lot of us really like riddles, which I can understand. They really get the creative mind working.
A harvest sown and reaped on the same day
in an unplowed field,
which increases without growing,
remains whole though it is eaten within and without,
is useless yet the staple of nations.

Fall here in England is quite beautiful. A lot of the days are dreary, but on clear ones like this you can see the trees and clouds and everything else. Inspiring, that's what it is. Wonderfully so.
